Dylan's ideas for the opening sequence (planning)

Here are my ideas and suggestions for the storyline of our opening sequence.

Chloe Tetu's Ideas for the Opening Sequence (planning)

In order for everyone to get their ideas and thoughts across, we all completed a description/ storyline of our own ideas of what we thought could work well in the opening sequence. Once we had all completed/ listened to each others concepts, we progressed on to finalising the main storyline/ story board by extracting the best ideas from each. Here are my ideas.

Our Starting Point for our Opening Sequence (planning)

This sheet shows the basic ideas we first had for our opening sequence task. It was the starting point of our planning and enabled us to elaborate and grow our ideas as we got further into the course.

Jade's 30+ opening sequence powerpoint

This is my opening sequence analysis. I analysed different genres of films to gather ideas for the opening sequence we were all going to make. We all decided on a romance genre, and so to make sure that I understood this genre I made sure that I analysed extra romance films. The kind of information I was looking for was the different types of shots and the way they were being used; what things were varied through different genres. The pictures that I have used are thanks to Google Images, and the links are thanks to youtube.

I have taken into account Mrs Mills' comments and updated my powerpoint.

Dylan's 35 opening sequence analysis

This is my powerpoint researching and analysing about 35 different film opening sequences. I have reported what i like and don't like based on; camera shots/filming; mise-en-scenè; music; titles; editing. We will have to consider all these features of films to create an interesting but original opening sequence. The genre we have chosen for our film is a Romance, so i studied an extra 10 romance films to build knowledge on what conventions an opening to a Romance will consist of. From the research, all 4 members of our group have collected a gathering of ideas, which we contributed to construct our opening sequence.

Benjamin's Opening Scene Analysis Presentation

OS Presentation

This Powerpoint shows the film's that i analysed the opening sequence's of each slide stating my likes (what i thought went well) and dislikes (what i thought made it bad) of each. I Would then use this to help make my own opening sequence a lot more interesting.
(I apologise for some slides not having links as i could not find an online video to link it to)

Chloe Tetu's Opening Sequences Analysis

This is my Opening Sequences analysis. It was very useful to do as i was able to look at a wide variety of film openings, which gave me an idea of what genre I might like to do for the main, Opening Sequence task. Also, by analysing each films opening I was able to have a look at what shots and titles, (etc), were present, and what i thought worked well and not so well.
(I have also discovered how to put the 'è' on mise en scène, something which I was unable to do while creating the PowerPoint Presentation)
Furthermore, i would also like to give credit to 'google images' for providing the pictures for me to use on my presentation.

Our Preliminary Task

In preparation for the main task, we completed a preliminary task so we could experiment with the following techniques and skills to help us gain confidence to create our main task:
-Filming
-Editing
-Camera shots
-Planning skills and group work
Our preliminary task had to consist of filming and editing a character opening a door, going into the room and engaging in a conversation with an additional character sitting opposite. We had to include several filming techniques such as match-on-action, shot reverse shot and the 180 degree rule. We successfully completed the task in a short period of time, so it will give us an insight into how long it will take and what type of things we will need to do in order to achieve finishing our main task to a high standard.
